6 reasons why we love a good CSR report
It’s no secret that we are fans of CSR reports here at Sustainawear.
We love reading them and we love making them, and we are thrilled to see that more and more companies have realised the many benefits of them too.
How about you?
Have you started to report your efforts yet?
If not, we have gathered a few of our favourite reasons for reporting in the list below, in the hope that it might make you consider developing your first report.
#1 It increases transparency
If drafted and communicated properly, it increases transparency, something many companies like to tell they prioritise.
And more transparency in the industry in general, is just a big plus.
#2 It is a great tool to measure progress
A report makes it easy to get an overview of your progress. And if you don’t know how things are going, how do you know where to lay most of your efforts.
With a report you get a thorough yearly update on what all your hard work is generating.
#3 It makes you discover areas that are lacking and areas you might haven’t thought of
When talking to the representatives from the different departments and teams, you may discover impactful projects and initiatives.
You also find that some things aren’t going as planned or haven’t had the impact you thought they would.
#4 It is easier to communicate your actions when you have proper documentation
Communicating about CSR can be tricky for most. But with the proper documentation it becomes much easier to navigate what you can and cannot say.
#5 It activates everyone involved and can increase motivation
In the process you involve a lot of teams and employees who all become aware of their role in this great task.
Often, we also see that some become more excited about the job at hand when they know their efforts will be shared.
#6 It provides ample opportunity to create procedures and systems that can be used in the future
When developing the report you will generate tables, diagrams, figures, systems and more to use in the report. These can be used in the future, and will already have been tested for reporting use.
